Originally founded in 1997 by James and Deborah Terry, TotalCaring Health Education & Staffing, Inc. expanded and incorporated in 2000. Their vision of creating a business that offers quality continuing education for healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, paramedics, dentistry, respiratory care providers and more has been realized. Their combined experience offers great insight into the needs of their clients. While they personally instruct most courses, their team of excellent instructors offer the ability to expand their services statewide in Florida. This team of instructors are highly-trained and exceptionally friendly. At TotalCaring, we understand that for many, continuing education updates such as ACLS can be a stressful experience. Dr. Deborah Terry earned an Associate of Nursing from Miami Dade Community College in 1983, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Miami in 1988. She successfully completed her Master of Science in Nursing in 1991 and Post Graduate Advanced Practice Nursing program for the University of Miami in 1997. Deborah also completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program (2010) and post-doctoral Acute Care (AGACNP) certificate (2016) at the University of Florida. She is board certified in Advanced Practice Nursing (ANP-BC and AGACNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Dr. Terry is a proud member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network. She is a past president of the University of Miami School of Nursing Alumni Association. In addition to clinical practice with local physicians, Deborah serves as the President of TotalCaring, Health Education and Staffing, Inc.. She is actively involved with the American Heart Association (AHA), where she serves as an instructor for BLS, ACLS and PALS, as well as Regional Faculty for BLS, ACLS and PALS.
Deborah enjoys participating in her local church ministries, volunteering with the Good Samaritan Wildflower Clinic, Betty Griffin House, traveling and spending time with family in her spare time.
James Terry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from The University of Tampa. He worked for the City of Hialeah Fire Department for 23 years before retiring as the EMS Chief in 1996. He immediately began working for the City of Tamarac where he served as the EMS Chief until he retired in 2003. In January of 2004, Jim began working for the City of Ormond Beach Fire Department, and served as the EMS Chief there until he retired in 2007.
Jim is a proud member of the Florida Fire Chief's Association and is involved with the annual Fire Rescue East National ALS and BLS competitions. Jim is actively involved with the American Heart Association (AHA) where he serves as an instructor for BLS, ACLS and PALS, as well as Regional Faculty in BLS, PALS and ACLS.
In his spare time, Mr. Terry enjoys multiple ministries with his church, volunteering with the Good Samaritan Wildflower Clinic, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
